On Thursday night Tony and I got to get out and have a date night. We dined at Il Piatto on 23rd & SE Ankeny and had a a wonderful culinary experience. They have a great happy hour menu served 5:30-6:30 daily which is more then enough to get a few items and share. On a nice evening their patio is very nostalgic Portland with wisteria vines climbing up the building making the perfect romantic spot. After dinner we went down to Fox tower and took in a show. We saw a movie called The Fall. I thoroughly enjoyed the storytelling and the cinematography was amazing. It was a breath of fresh air compared to the recent releases that Hollywood has been churning out these days. I thought this movie was beautiful and would recommend this movie to my adult friends.
Los Angeles, circa 1920's, a little immigrant girl finds herself in a hospital recovering from a fall. She strikes up a friendship with a bedridden man who captivates her with a whimsical story that removes her far from the hospital doldrums into the exotic landscapes of her imagination. Making sure he keeps the girl interested in the story, he interweaves her family and people she likes from the hospital into his tale.

YAY! Date Nights are a most excellent treat! Glad to hear you and your man were able to romanticize a bit amidst life with a toddler-- and soon to be newborn. Those evenings out are supremely important to sanity maintenence =)

We just watched "Pride" with Terrance Howard and Bernie Mac last night. I'd recommend that one.. Both inspiring and humorous =)
